It looks like Clay Buchholz is coming to Toronto.

According to TSN's Scott Mitchell, the Blue Jays are adding the two-time All-Star starter to the fold.

Jon Heyman of the MLB Network reports that the deal is thought to be for $3 million in base salary plus $3 million in incentives and is pending a physical.

Buchholz had one of his best seasons last year with the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 16 starts over 98.1 innings, Buchholz had a miniscule 2.01 earned run average to go along with a WHIP of 1.03.

In 1,273.1 innings over 12 big league seasons, the 34-year-old is 88-64 with an ERA of 3.86.

General manager Ross Atkins previously said the grouping of Marcus Stroman, Aaron Sanchez, Matt Shoemaker and Clayton Richard will likely occupy the first four spots in the rotation (in no particular order) when camp breaks, meaning Buchholz could occupy the fifth spot. Left-handers Ryan Borucki and Thomas Pannone have also been given starts for the Jays this spring.

Mitchell notes that the Buchholz signing could push Richard to the bullpen.

The reported addition of Buchholz comes on the heels of the Jays agreeing to a deal with right-handed reliever Bud Norris

The Jays fell 11-5 to the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday and will be back in action against the Atlanta Braves.
