Montreal Canadiens forward Paul Byron is dealing with an arm injury, though the nature of it has not yet been diagnosed, head coach Claude Julien said Monday.

Byron left Sunday overtime win against the Edmonton Oilers with an upper-body injury and did not return. He appeared to suffer a left shoulder injury after being hit into the end boards in the second period, but Julien said it's his arm that was injured.

Sunday was Byron's second game back after serving a three-game suspension. Prior to his exit, Byron had an assist in 8:53 of ice time.

Byron has 10 goals and nine assists in 35 games so far this season.

The Canadiens will be back in action on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks and Byron is doubtful for that contest.

Fellow Canadiens forward Andrew Shaw will miss Tuesday's game as he continues to deal with a neck injury. Shaw hasn’t been cleared to play and said Monday he needs one or two more practices before he feels ready to return to action. Suiting up Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets is a possibility for Shaw.

The 27-year-old has been out since Dec. 31. He has 11 goals and 24 points in 36 games this season.
