The Los Angeles Kings have waived goaltender Scott Wedgewood just two days after acquiring him as part of their deal for Tobias Rieder.

The Kings sent backup goaltender Darcy Kuemper to the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday for Wedgewood and Rieder.

In 20 games this season, the 25-year-old Wedgewood has posted a 3.45 goals-against average with a .893 save percentage and a 5-9-4 record.

He last started a game on Feb. 13, when he stopper 28 of 29 shots in a win over the San Jose Sharks.

The Kings will move forward with Jack Campbell serving as Jonathan Quick's backup. Campbell has a 11-10-4 record with a 2.83 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage in 26 games with the AHL's Ontario Reign this season.
