Craig Anderson is nearing a return. The goalie will travel with the Senators on their upcoming three-game road trip, although there is no guarantee he’ll play. Anderson said he has a deep bone bruise in his hand. – TSN

Vancouver Canucks

With Ryan Miller headed for an MRI, the Canucks recalled goalie Jacob Markstrom from Utica.

The Vancouver Canucks and Utica Comets jointly announced today that forward Tom Sestito will not play for either club for the remainder of this season. Sestito will workout on his own and will continue to receive his salary while the Canucks work to identify a new club where he can continue his career. - Team Release

Winnipeg Jets

Ben Chiarot had surgery on his left hand yesterday and according to head coach Paul Maurice, recovery time is usually around six weeks. - TSN 

Toronto Maple Leafs

Dion Phaneuf took part in his first full practice Monday (right hand). The team sounded hopeful that he would play Thursday, though they were reluctant to pinpoint a date. Phaneuf has missed the past 12 games.

Phil Kessel did not practice Monday. He's been bothered by nagging injuries (reportedly a groin issue) and took the day for maintenance.

Trevor Smith rejoined the team for practice, but left after just 20 minutes. Smith has sat out the past three games with a lower-body injury. - TSN

Detroit Red Wings

A possible head injury may keep Zetterberg out of playing right away, but bedridden he is not. Zetterberg didn't skate, but general manager Ken Holland told the Free Press no decision on Zetterberg's status would be made before Monday. Zetterberg left Saturday's game after the second period, which began with him getting punched in the head by Dallas' Jamie Benn. Zetterberg wasn't available to reporters Sunday. – Detroit Free Press

Chicago Blackhawks

Defenseman Johnny Oduya left in the first period with an upper-body injury. The team announced Oduya would be out a couple weeks on Monday. – Team Twitter

Montreal Canadiens

Sergei Gonchar is practicing with the team for the first time since sustaining an upper-body injury against the Maple Leafs two Saturday's ago. He's wearing a non-contact jersey. - TSN

Head coach Bob Hartley said G Karri Ramo starts on Tuesday against the New York Rangers.

General manager Ron Hextall said it’s unlikely either goaltender Steve Mason (knee surgery) or Kimmo Timonen (blood disorder) will play at either Carolina (Tuesday) or Toronto (Thursday). A more likely return date is Saturday at home vs. the New York Rangers. – Burlington County Times
