Carolina Hurricanes assistant general manager Rick Olczyk is leaving the team and expected to land with the Toronto Maple Leafs in some capacity, according to a report from Aaron Ward.

Olczyk served as the team's assistant general manager under the since-fired Ron Francis since 2014. Prior to that he spent six seasons as the assistant GM for the Edmonton Oilers.

It's unknown at this time what position Olczyk will fill with the Maple Leafs. The team has already named Brandon Pridham and Laurence Gilman assistant GMs under the freshly-promoted Kyle Dubas. Mark Hunter, who served alongside Dubas as assistant GMs last season, left the organization earlier this off-season.
