SHEBOYGAN, Wisconsin - Nick Taylor had a pretty direct way of summing up his third round Saturday.

"I hit terrible off the tee, didn't hit any good iron shots, didn't make any putts," he said after posting a round of 75. "So that's kind of the whole story."

That does indeed provide a complete analysis of Taylor's third round, which was really ignited by his inability to find the fairway off the tee. He only found five of 14 fairways at Whistling Straits, an especially difficult course from which to play in the rough.

But there is one positive part of his Saturday – he was playing golf. Taylor was forced to wait out the end of the second round in the morning after a nasty storm rolled in Friday evening, causing play to end prematurely. At two-over par, he was on the bubble and was forced to kept a close eye on the scores.

"I was up at 7 and did a normal warm-up and kept checking the phone, obviously hoping to play but the conditions were pretty easy this morning so you never knew," stated Taylor. "Luckily T70 was in so happy to be playing, that's for sure."

The Abbotsford, B.C. product's round included four bogeys and a double, against three birdies. His score was in sharp contrast to playing partner Victor Dubuisson, who fired a 67 over the softened course on the shores of Lake Michigan.

"It was definitely out there," said Taylor, who is playing his first major as a professional. "Victor obviously played great who I played with, so that obviously magnified how I was playing. Every round I'm playing it's the worst possible score I can be shooting. It's never fun that way."

He'll get another shot at Whistling Straits on Sunday when he says he plans to just let loose.

"I'll probably just go for everything, really," he said. "I'm in a spot where I probably can't get much worse, so try to go for a score, six, seven under, hopefully. The putter's got to heat up for that to happen."
