TORONTO - The Toronto Blue Jays selected the contract of left-hander Felix Doubront on Friday and recalled right-hander Ryan Tepera from triple-A Buffalo.

Doubront was 1-3 with a 2.44 earned-run average over nine starts with the Bisons this season. He split last season between the Red Sox and Chicago Cubs after spending his first four big-league seasons with Boston.

Tepera, also 27, did not record a decision and has a 2.77 ERA in 12 appearances with the Blue Jays this year.

The moves were made after Toronto used all seven relievers in a 12-6 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Thursday night.

Blue Jays starter Matt Boyd did not record an out and allowed seven earned runs. Toronto sent Boyd down to the Bisons after the game and designated reliever Todd Redmond for assignment.
