Howard, Templeman lift Six to victory over Beauts

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Lexi Templeman scored and notched an assist as the Toronto Six gritted out a 2-1 win over the Buffalo Beauts on Friday.

Brittany Howard also had a goal and a helper for Toronto (6-1-2).

Buffalo's lone goal came from Claudia Kepler 30 seconds into the second period.

Carly Jackson made 24 saves for the Six and Kassidy Sauve stopped 28-of-30 shots for the Beauts (1-3-1).

The two sides will meet again in a rematch on Saturday.
