Four years of return visits to Atlanta has prepared Freddie Freeman for another on Tuesday night, this time as the starting first baseman for the National League in the All-Star Game.

Looming over baseball is a likely lockout in December 2026, a possible management push for a salary cap and perhaps lost regular-season games for the first time since 1995.

Calling it "institutionalized collusion," MLB Players Association executive director Tony Clark on Tuesday reiterated he remains vehemently opposed to installing a salary cap after baseball's labor deal expires following the 2026 season as owners and commissioner Rob Manfred have increasingly called for changes to the sport's economic system to improve competitive balance.
