The Washington Capitals have signed forward Nic Dowd to a three-year contract extension worth $2.25 million, the team announced on Thursday.

Dowd scored a career-high eight goals this season and matched his career high in points with 22. The 28-year-old joined Washington for the 2018-19 season after previous stints with the Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks.
