Winnipeg Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey left Tuesday's matchup with the San Jose Sharks with a lower-body injury. He is day-to-day and the Jets haven't ruled him out of their next game Thursday against the Montreal Canadiens.

Morrissey blocked a shot in the first period on the Sharks' power play and exited the game after returning for one shift. At the time of the injury, he had one assist in 3:05 of ice time.

For the season, Morrissey has six goals and 23 assists in 51 games.

Following their matchup with San Jose, the Jets will be back in action Thursday in Montreal against the Canadiens.
