The Toronto Maple Leafs signed Russian forward Egor Korshkov to a two-year entry-level contract on Wednesday.

Korshkov was selected by the Maple Leafs in the second round - 31st overall - of the 2016 NHL Draft. The team added Korshkov has signed a professional tryout with the Toronto Marlies and will join the team for the remainder of the Calder Cup playoffs. The Marlies will open their second-round series on Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old spent this past season with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the KHL, posting three goals and five points in 19 games. In nine playoff games, he added three assists.

Over the past five seasons in the KHL, Korshkov has posted 24 goals and 41 assists in 172 games with Lokomotiv. 

Korshkov, 22, represented Russia at the 2016 world juniors, posting two goals and eight points in seven games as the team captured a silver medal.
