New York Knicks forward Julius Randle has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols, it was announced Thursday.

He will miss New York's matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder Friday night.

Randle struggled immensely in the Knicks 94-85 victory over the Detroit Pistons Wednesday night, going 2-11 from the field for five points. Like the rest of the Knicks' starting lineup, Randle did not play in the fourth quarter. 

The NBA's Most Improved Player last season, Randle is in his third season with the Knicks after signing as a free agent during the summer of 2019.

He is averaging 19.3 points. 10.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 35 games so far this season.
