"The Summer of Vladdy" will have to wait.

Toronto Blue Jays top prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr., currently with the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Eastern League, has been ruled for at least four weeks with a strained patellar tendon in his left knee. He will be reevaluated at that juncture.

Guerrero had been placed on the seven-day disabled list on Thursday.

The 19-year-old native of Montreal picked up the injury during a Wednesday game with the Akron Rubber Ducks. After singling in the fourth inning, Guerrero was lifted for a pinch runner and left the field favouring his leg. The injury appeared to be an exacerbation on one incurred the prior weekend when he pulled up with an apparent left leg issue attempting to beat out an infield single.

In 53 games with the Fisher Cats this season, Guerrero is hitting .407 with 11 home runs and 55 runs batted in and an OPS of 1.124.

He was named the Eastern League Player of the Month for May.
