Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Travis Dermott left Saturday's game against the Winnipeg Jets late in the first period after blocking a shot on the inside of his left foot. He did not return.

Dermott was helped off the ice by trainers and according to TSN's Kristen Shilton, he was in a great deal of pain as he went to the locker room.

"I don't know if he is out for a bit, I don't know anything about it. He had x-rays and there was nothing, and then they'll have whatever scans they do next and they'll see how he's feeling tomorrow and we'll make a decision from there," head coach Mike Babcock said after the game, a 3-1 loss for the Leafs.

In 35 games this season he has one goal and 12 assists.

The Leafs will be back in action Monday night against the Buffalo Sabres.
