Edmonton Oilers forward Patrick Maroon will not play Saturday night against the Los Angeles Kings because of a lower-body injury, head coach Todd McLellan announced Saturday.

Maroon occupies the No. 4 spot on TSN Trade Bait list, but the McLellan stressed his absence Saturday is because of injury and not because they are being cautious before a potential trade.

The Oilers expect Maroon to play tomorrow against the Anaheim Ducks.

In 57 games so far this season, Maroon has 14 goals and 16 assists.

Coming into play Saturday, the Oilers sit sixth in the Pacific Division at 25-31-4.
